Campaign to end cyberbullying launches in Lebanon

A campaign to address the problems of cyberbullying and online crimes against children has been launched by our colleagues in Lebanon.

Faced with weak regulations and social media companies reluctant to take responsibilities for problems on their platforms, the campaign calls for greater protection for children and young people online, while giving parents advice and resources to protect their children from cyberbullying.

Increasing online safety and addressing cyberbullying have been key priorities identified by members of the Wa’ed network for adolescent girls. Young people are spending more and more time online, but governments across the world have struggled to keep pace with the rapid change social networking, while tech companies shirk their responsibilities to keep young users safe.

The campaign launches by our colleagues Justice Without Frontiers aims to provide parents with a better understanding of the threats that children and young people face online, and what they can do to protect them, from setting limits to their screen time and keeping track of their social networking, to ensuring they have offline pursuits.
