Women’s role in peace deserves the widest attention: Karama at the Fez Forum
Karama founder Hibaaq Osman urged the Fez Forum to provide a greater platform for the critical work of women as peacemakers.
Speaking during the breakout discussion “Mediation in Cultural and Religious Conflicts: Women the Forgotten Peace-Makers”, Hibaaq noted that such important testimony should have been a plenary session.
The discussion saw women peacemakers from countries including Mali, DR Congo, Central African Republic and Morocco discuss their experience.
Hibaaq Osman’s intervention from the floor criticized the failure to include these voices in the full discussions being held at by the UN Alliance of Peace event.
