Jane Fonda: What We Are Seeing Is A Wounded Patriarchy

Watch our full conversation between Jane Fonda and leading young women activists from the Arab region. Jane discussed her journey to becoming an activist, her reflections on the difference between the civil rights protests of the 60s and 70s, and Black Lives Matter today, exploring what role white people can play in the movements for racial justice.

The young participants asked Jane about how movements can foster intergenerational dialogue, about her mentors and role models, and how activists can take care of themselves.

We are so grateful to Jane for spending time with our young partners - especially at such a critical moment in the United States. This conversation forms a part of Karama’s ongoing series of conversations with inspirational women from across the world. During this time of upheaval and crisis, we need to learn from each other, to pass on our experiences and insights, and seek strength and solidarity across global movements for justice.
